Two Camps in One Photo Exhibition

About the project

Save the Children Sweden’s photo exhibition Two Camps in One is a depiction of the daily changes, challenges, and hopes of children from both Nahr al-Bared and Baddawi refugee camps due to the conflict that took place in May 2007.

The European Commission Humanitarian Aid Department (ECHO) funded this project that promotes empowering children and having their voices heard; which is amongst Save the Children’s Sweden’s goals to improve living conditions of children. This is achieved by the exhibition that captures the essence of how these children lived during strenuous circumstances through their eyes/camera lenses.

Three groups of children between the ages of 7 and 15 were given cameras to document the drastic transformation that had occurred in their lives. The children named the exhibition Two Camps in One since the large influx of displaced from Nahr al-Bared went to live in Baddawi Camp which meant that the camp temporarily became home to a population from two camps.

The first exhibition will take place from June 22nd till 28th at Al Madina Theatre-Hamra-Beirut and then will tour other locations inside Lebanon and around the world.
